Tornero is a true uruguayan Estancia
Estate and mansion date from the turn of the century. In fact the current book "Antiguas Estancias de Uruguay"
dedicates a chapter to Tornero.
It is a working ranch, main activities being cattle (Hereford and others) and sheep (Corriedale).
You will get an impression of the estancias daily life, horse ride as much as you like,
and feel like a personal guest of the family. At times you will have a flavor of the grand lifestile
of an estanciero of the turn of the century, at times you will enjoy the silence an beauty of the
Uruguayan countryside or have a Gaucho stile "asado" (barbecue) with your host.
Tornero has 4 guestrooms, some with open fireplace. Accommodation includes full board.

As of 2008 guest estancias in Uruguay typically charge US$70-150 per person per day, naturally varying with the level of comfort offered.
In most cases 4 meals per day are included, as well as horse riding.
